About the Program
Seats are limited and instead of lengthy applications, we will be interviewing each potential student up to several times by phone to make sure it's the right fit for everyone.
Last semester, all of our classes were full and most had a waitlist. We're still rolling out class details, instructors, and curriculum but it's a great idea to apply early, save your spot on the list, and get insight about programming in development during the phone interview.
Browse the course list, fill out the inquiry form, and let's have a conversation :)
We offer courses at junior, intermediate, and advanced levels.
All our instructors are current, working industry professionals.
Our courses are shorter, affordable, and streamlined for motivated, self-learners.
Hack Oregon's nonprofit project work creates an immersive production environment for experiential learning.
Our courses are modular, rooted in systems-thinking principles, and support multi-disciplinary collaboration.
Every class is focused on data-driven, open source approaches to technology.
Our offerings evolve constantly to stay on the cutting edge of the industry and encourage a culture of life-long learning.
All classes are 6 hours of class time per week.
All classes take place in the evening, from 6-9pm on a Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs schedule.
Cost ranges depending on length and level of the course. Typically courses range between $250-$850.
At Hack University, the cost of a course should not a barrier to your application.
Scholarship options vary by course and there are a range of options that can be assessed on a case by case basis. Apply early, as many grant options require 30+ days to process.
Winter 2017 courses begin throughout January. Check course descriptions for specific start dates.
DEMO DAY AND PROJECT SEASON:
This Hack University session is totally integrated with our upcoming Hack Oregon project season. If you're in a class, your project work will be contributing toward a large-scale, open source software product cycle. You'll have a chance Demo with your team at the OMSI IMAX Theater in March.
