Housing team meeting

At this week's housing meeting we will be discussing Warren's excellent analysis of the data we have so far and making more granular decisions about how to use the data we have to build the Minimum Viable Product we defined before the holidays. As discussed, that product will be a map-based analysis of how the cost burden of housing varies across neighborhoods and for different demographic groups. Policy folk, design thinkers, and those who are ready to get under the hood and start designing the back end will all be essential at this meeting. Gabriele will bring snacks.

Housing Team data and research meeting

At this meeting, we will

1. discuss the research question(s) that will frame our MVP and

2. get into the weeds on IMS and census data. We want to refine our work down to a tool that speaks to current policy controversies, conforms to best practices in data science, and, most importantly, can get done in the time we have with the technology and people at hand.

This session is for those in data science, research, and design roles, as well as anyone interested in a technical conversation about the state of our data. At the meeting, some of us will work on downloading datasets from the IMS website to our shared Google folder and exploring exactly what they look like. Others will be exploring the Census datasets. Data architecture and science folk from other teams who want to talk Census or IMS are invited to join us.
